about fnll concessions

Image Description
FNLL operates snack bars at two local parks: Mann Park and Sheldon Park.
We rely on the support of our league's families to make these snack bars a success.

Volunteer and Connect

Parents are a vital part of this effort, volunteering their time at the snack bars. It's not just about fulfilling volunteer hours; it's also a fun way to connect with other league families.

Shift Expectations
Each family should plan to work 1-2 shifts per player. The number of shifts may vary each year based on the number of players and scheduled games. Please note that Snack Bars are not open during Fall Ball. For example, if you have one child playing, you'll work 1-2 shifts. Families with two players should anticipate 3-4 shifts.

Non-Volunteer fee
If you are unable to volunteer, during registration you can choose to opt out of volunteer hours by paying the $100 (per player) Non-Volunteer fee  . However, please honor your assigned shifts.
*Note: Failure to fulfill assigned shifts will result in FNLL hiring a teen to cover the shift, and the fee will be passed on to the parent. Outstanding balances must be paid before registering your child for subsequent seasons or programs.

concessions faq's

Q: Who do I contact to get information about the snack bar duties?
A:  Each team parent and coach will be provided information on your assigned snack bar shifts and the For Hire List, should you wish to hire someone to cover your assigned shift(s). They will share this information with you once it is received.  If you have specific questions you may reach out to our Snack Bar Coordinator Karlee Navarro.

Q: What happens if I am assigned a shift that I can’t make?
A: You may either see if there is another family that can trade shifts with you, or, you may utilize the For Hire list to hire a FNLL approved teen to work your shift.

Q: How will I know what to do during my shift?
A: Each snack bar shift will have a representative from our "For Hire" Team or a Board Member on hand who will open the snack bar and be available to help and answer questions.

Q: Do I HAVE to work during my child’s game?
A: Snack Bar shifts are randomly assigned.  If you happen to be assigned a shift that conflicts with your players game, you may trade that shift with another family in the league, or you may hire someone from the For Hire list.

Q: Can I bring my kids to the snack bar?
A: No. Due to liability issues, no children under the age of 13 can enter the snack bar.

Q: Can my other family members work my shifts?
A: Yes. Adult family members (18 and over) can work your shift as long as they identify they are covering the shift for your child.

Q: How long are the shifts?
A: When working the snack bar your shift will start 30 minutes prior to the scheduled game, so please plan accordingly.  Your shift will end roughly 15 minutes after the game concludes.  Each shift can last about 3 hours.
