Junior Umpire Program

The FNLL/FALL Junior Umpire Program combines resources to provide a comprehensive experience for young umpires.
Here's what you need to know:

Program Goals

  • Develop a strong grasp of game rules.
  • Cultivate character traits.
  • Encourage youth participation.

Duties

  • Junior umpires will officiate FNLL/FALL AA, AAA, Majors, and Juniors regular season games. Specific training is mandatory, and practice games will determine your placement based on adherence to protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Control the actions of both teams, managers, and fans on the field.
  • Maintain professional conduct throughout the game.
  • Communicate play decisions clearly and decisively.
  • Attend required clinics and field mechanics training(s) to enhance your skills.
  • Dress appropriately in accordance with our guidelines.
  • Keep a positive attitude both on and off the field.
  • Follow the league's Code of Conduct.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Minimum age: 13 (or 12 with UIC approval).
  • Attend FNLL and FALL Rules and field mechanics classes.
  • Have a valid email or cell phone.
  • Strictly avoid umpiring games involving family members.
  • Umpire divisions determined by UICs.
